How to Adjust Your Personal Settings
As seen in Figure 1, clicking on your name in the My Home mini bar opens a menu with link to the links to
Selecting the Profile link will bring you to the Edit My User Profile page. Please be aware that
- Adding information to your profile is optional.
- You need to be aware that all information the you share in your profile can be seen by ALL members of all the courses to which you are enrolled.
- All information and pictures in your profile is governed by GHC Student Code of Conduct.
- Pictures should only contain you and no one else, and you must be the sole owner of the copyright.
- Georgia Highlands College and its D2L administrators reserve the right to remove, delete, or alter any and all user Profiles that violate GHC and University System of Georgia rules, policies, policies, and standards.
Control how you receive notifications about activity in your courses. You can receive a periodic summary of activity, or receive instant notifications as things happen. This can be set to go to your GHC email or text message to your mobile number.
At the end of the semester, be sure to turn off all of your notifications, especially if you are graduating or not taking courses next semester.
The following is a list of notifications that can be sent from D2L to your GHC email account.
The Account Settings link allows you to personalize some of features and tools in D2L look or act. If you change account setting, be sure to select the Save button after each change. There are three tabs within the Account Setting tool.
Accounts Settings Tab
Under this tab you can personalize for fonts, dialogs, HTML Editor, reading, video, locale and languages, and time zone.
We recommend that under HTML Editor you uncheck the box in front of "Turn off rich text editor and view source", then select the Save button on the bottom left of the page.
Personalize the font size in D2L
You can adjust the font type and size to fit your preference or needs. Here are the steps to follow.
Step 1: Log in to D2L.
Step2: Click on your name which is on the right side of the My Home navigation bar. This will open a menu.
Step 3: From that menu, select Account Settings.
Step 4: Under Font Settings, select the Font Face and Font Size you would like. You will notice the sentence, “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. As you change the Font Settings, this sentence will change to show you what the changes you want will look like.
Step 5: Once you have selected the Font Settings you would like, select the Save and Close button on the bottom left.
Under this tab, you can change the display, reply, or subscription setting for the Discussions tool.
Under this tab to can add an automatic email signature and email display options.
From the My Home page, the Progress link allows you select from a list of the course you ar taking and view the progress that you are making in the course selected. If you are with a course and you select the Progress link, you will only is the progress for that course. The view progress on grades, objectives, content, discussions, assignments,quizzes, checklist, surveys, and your login history. You can do this for the last 7 days, last 30 days, or all time.
Special Note: While we have listed all of he progress categories, the use of the tools associated with these in each course is determine by the instructor. Therefore, you may see variations in your Progress reports. Contact you instructor if you have questions about your progress as it appears within D2L.
